Stan Boychuk

Stan Boychuk works with R2R on developing: high-performance building design; new and retrofit construction; BC Step Code compliant training for inclusion in carpentry apprenticeship training; training initiatives to build community capacity; a new certification for an Indigenous high-performance carpentry certification; and capital costing for construction implementation.

Stan has worked and lived for the past 40 years in either the Yukon or the west coast of Vancouver Island and during that time gained an understanding and appreciation of First Nation culture, relationship to the land, and the importance of living in balance and harmony with place.  Stan currently resides in Victoria, BC and works with organizations to create meaningful relations with First Nation communities, and to create substantive transformational change, which provides avenues for creating success in current and emerging markets.

Stan volunteers with a number of community organizations, including the Vancouver Island Community Investment Cooperative and the Salish Sea Biosphere Initiative. He chaired the Canadian Commission for UNESCO, National Committee for Man and the Biosphere from 2010 - 2016 and served as the Canadian representative on the International Coordinating Council for UNESCO from 2010 - 2016.
