Rohan Walters B. Arch. is the principal designer of Spaces By Rohan Inc., an independent design firm working with architects, engineers, interior designers, businesses, property managers and property owners. Spaces By Rohan Inc. has also been responsible for the complete development, design and construction of two ‘alternative’ homes in the Toronto: 157 Coxwell Avenue, 1292 College Street (The Triangle House), and 1294 College Street (The Driveway House). Two of the three projects acknowledged in UTOPIA, Towards A New Toronto, Coach House Books. The other, 1294 College Street (The Driveway House), has been published in the Globe and Mail newspaper. These houses represent Rohan’s ability to craft artistically, economically, and sustainably appropriate solutions in positive and unexpected ways, properties previously described as ‘difficult’. Rohan’s work has been featured in the Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star, City TV various other media. Rohan has been a guest critic and lecturer at OCADU and York University over the years.
Most recently Rohan has had a roll in affecting Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) Policy acceptance in Ontario. Additionally, Cohousing has arisen once again in our culture as a potent development and living strategy for more stable and sustainable communities. Architecture and planning are a reflection of our collective hearts. We breath into our hearts the air we share, like the architecture and design we build.
